Our Best Answer: What is Phi Theta Kappa?

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an International Honors Society, for which you pay a one time $70 fee to have access to a professional development program, a scholarship search program and additional scholarships only available to PTK members. Joining will always be a good line on your resume, but you get the most benefit from it if you are applying for the scholarships or planning on transferring to a 4-year college that gives an automatic scholarship to PTK members.

Eligibility and Invitation: Students must have at least 12 credits at LaGuardia Community College and a 3.5 GPA. Once you meet the criteria, you will automatically receive an invitation to join PTK through mail and email. We send invitations to students after each semester is completed. For example, if you qualify in Fall I, you will receive an invitation in January/February.

You can find out more about Phi Theta Kappa by checking out our Facebook page or website. You can also stop by our office in C740 to see if any officers are available to chat and answer your specific questions.
