Our Best Answer: Why do I still need to be advised if I've been here for 2 semesters?
Advising Requirement
The length of time for which a student has been enrolled at LaGuardia doesn't necessarily determine the need for advisement. Students in the following situations require advisement:
- Completed less than 30 degree-applicable credits.
- Academic standing is Probation, Extended Probation, or Dismissal.
- Have not completed all Basic Skills courses (e.g., ENG 99, MAT 99, etc.)
- Have not completed/passed a First Year Seminar course (e.g., BTF 101, CSF 101, etc.)
Even if a student doesn't fall into those specific situations, students are still encouraged to seek advisement to ensure that they're on the right track toward graduation.
