Our Best Answer: Can I challenge a grade?

Challenging a Grade

If you believe that a grade you received does not reflect your work in a class, you have the right to appeal that grade.

A grade can only be changed through the grade appeal process:

  1. Begin by reviewing your grade with your instructor to see if you can resolve the issue.
  2. If not, you may discuss your grade with the Department Chairperson.
  3. If you are still unsatisfied, you can go to B100 and meet with a Counselor. They will help you prepare the Academic Appeal Form. You will need to prepare a statement detailing your reasons for questioning the grade and attach any documentation that is appropriate.
  4. Once the form is complete, it will be forwarded to the Academic Appeals Committee for review and decision. The determination of the Committee is final – there is no other appeal.
