MAT 117 is a course that will fulfill your requirement of MAT 096 and grant you 3 credits towards your degree for MAT 115.  
  • MAT 117 waives the CUNY Elementary Algebra Final Exam (CEAFE) for students who pass the course.  Some students who do not pass MAT 117 may be eligible to take the CEAFE and place out of MAT 096; eligibility is determined by the instructor.
  • MAT 117 satisfies Pathways Required Core Mathematics and Quantitative Reasoning
  • MAT 117 transfers to senior colleges
Eligibility
MAT 117 is available to students who meet each of the following criteria:
  • Passed MAT 095 or placed into MAT 096
  • Not yet completed Pathways Required Core Mathematics and Quantitative Reasoning
  • Enrolled in one of the following programs: Biology, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Engineering Science, Liberal Arts: Math & Science, Programming & Systems, Radiologic Technology, or Travel Tourism & Hospitality
