Filing your FAFSA
The FAFSA is the application form required for all federal financial aid. You can file your FAFSA online, or you can visit the Student Financial Services Resource Center in room C109 where our staff will assist you. You can also call (800) 433-3243 for help with filing your FAFSA.
The Federal School Code for LaGuardia is 010051.
You will need the following information:
NOTE: If you’re filing your FAFSA for the 2019-2020 aid year, you’ll need tax forms and income information from 2017.
If you’re filing your FAFSA for the 2020-2021 aid year (effective October 1, 2019), you’ll need tax forms and income information from 2018.
It is important that you submit your FAFSA application by the priority filing dates. Failure to do so may delay the processing of your application. Priority deadlines for 2019-2020 are March 15th (upcoming Fall semester) and December 15th (upcoming Spring semester). The deadline to file your FAFSA for the 2019-2020 school year is June 30, 2020. Priority deadlines for 2020-2021 are March 15th (Fall semester) and December 15th (Spring semester). The deadline to file your FAFSA for the 2020-2021 school year is June 30, 2020.
You can file your FAFSA as early as October 1. You can use estimates of your income, so long as they are not very different from the actual amounts. If you wait too long, you might miss the deadline for scholarships and/or campus based work-study aid. Immediately after you and/or your parents have completed your tax returns, you must adjust your FAFSA to reflect your or your parents’ actual income.
