LaGuardia has a unique academic calendar called an Enhanced Semester Calendar. Our semesters are 18-weeks long, and each semester is split into a 12-week session (Fall I and Spring I) and a 6-week session (Fall II and Spring II). Students have the option of attending one or both sessions in a semester. Classes are longer and/or meet more frequently in Fall II and Spring II.

Approximate start and finish dates for each semester are as follows:

• Fall semester:
  • Fall Session I  - early September  through December
  • Fall Session II - early January through February
• Spring Semester:
  • Spring I  - March through June
  • Spring II - late June through mid-August
