Our Best Answer: What is a 1098-T?

1098-T

The 1098-T form, also referred to as the "Tuition Payment Statement," will help you determine if you are eligible to claim tax credits. A 1098-T form is issued to students who make payments on their tuition and fees within a calendar year. Payments made for prior calendar year semesters are NOT included on a current 1098-T form. Students who have financial aid, grants, scholarships, etc. will only receive a 1098-T when they pay an amount in excess of these funds toward their tuition.

1098-T forms will be mailed to the current address we have on file on your CUNYfirst account or you can see how to access your 1098-T from your CUNYfirst account (see instructions below). Your 1098-T will be available by the end of January each year. If your form is not online in CUNYfirst, please contact the Bursar's Office.

If you spot a discrepancy when reviewing your 1098-T, please contact the Bursar's Office immediately at (718) 482-7226 or by email, bursar@lagcc.cuny.edu. If required, an updated form will be available on CUNYfirst once the discrepancy is resolved.
