Eligibility for ASAP

In accordance with CUNY ASAP policies, you're eligible for admission to the program if you meet the following criteria: you

  1. Must agree to enter into an Associate's degree program (A.A., A.S. or A.A.S)
  2. Cannot major in: Undeclared Nursing, Nursing, Physical Therapy Assistant, Veterinary Technology, Paramedic/EMT, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Dietetic Technician, Radiologic Technology, Music Recording Technology, or Non-Degree/Certificate Programs
  3. Have been accepted to LaGuardia Community College
  4. Are eligible for New York City Tuition Rates
  5. Must have earned no more than 15 credits by the end of the Session I prior to the semester of enrollment in ASAP. If a student is in the Early College Initiative program, ASAP can accept up to 30 credits
  6. Must be in good academic standing (GPA 2.0 and above for continuing and transfer students)
  7. Must not have to complete more than 2 remedial/developmental courses
  8. Must commit to being a full-time student; minimum of 12 credits during session I and 3 credits during session II
  9. May not participate in both College Discovery (CD) and ASAP
  10. **Have applied for FAFSA if eligible (if you do not qualify for financial aid after filling out the FAFSA, please speak with ASAP recruitment)

**It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application each year and accept any federal and state grant aid awarded (Pell, FSEOG, TAP).
