Our Best Answer: How do I get credit for college courses taken through College Now or college-level exams like Advanced Placement or CLEP?

Credit for College Now / Advance Placement (AP) / CLEP

Please note that all CLEP exams for April have been cancelled. Contact the ACE Registrar for updates.

If you took College Now courses and LaGuardia was not the host college, you need to submit a transcript to C102 from the host college.

If you took AP or CLEP exams, you must request a transcript from the College Board to be sent to LaGuardia Community College. Submit a Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) inquiry form at laguardia.edu/cpl, and the CPL admissions coordinator will verify that the test credit is applied to your transcript.

CLEP (College Level Examination Program) is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the United States today, helping students of all ages to earn credit for what they already know. Students can earn from 3 to 12 college credits toward a college degree for each CLEP exam taken, depending on the exam subject and the policy of the college. LaGuardia may accept up to a total of 30 CLEP credits. Learn more, including how to register to take CLEP exams here at LaGuardia.
